R32, R22 and R410A are three common refrigerants, which have significant differences in physical properties, energy efficiency and environmental friendliness.

R22 is a hydrochlorofluorocarbon (HCFC) refrigerant with the molecular formula CHClF2. Compared with R32 and R410A, R22 has a higher GWP of 1700 and an ODP of 0.05, which still has a certain destructive effect on the ozone layer. Despite this, R22 has high energy efficiency and performs well in the medium pressure and medium temperature range, suitable for a variety of operating temperatures. In addition, R22 also has good fire safety and electrical insulation properties. However, due to its destructive effect on the ozone layer, the international community has gradually phased out the use of this refrigerant, and my country will gradually reduce the annual production quota of R22 until it is completely eliminated.

R32 is a hydrofluorocarbon (HFC) refrigerant with the molecular formula CH2F2. It has a low global warming potential (GWP) and an ozone depletion potential (ODP) of 0, indicating that it has no destructive effect on the ozone layer. R32 has a high refrigeration capacity and energy efficiency ratio, especially in household and commercial air-conditioning systems. Its low molecular weight and excellent thermal conductivity allow it to use less refrigerant at the same refrigeration effect, thereby further reducing equipment energy consumption and improving overall efficiency. However, R32 belongs to the A2L level (flammable and explosive), which can burn under certain conditions, but is relatively difficult to ignite and the flame propagation speed is slow. Therefore, special attention should be paid to fire prevention measures when using and storing R32 refrigerant.

R410A is a non-azeotropic mixed refrigerant composed of hydrofluorocarbons and alkanes. It is a low GWP refrigerant with an ODP value of 0 and has no destructive effect on the ozone layer. R410A has the highest energy efficiency and high cooling (heating) efficiency, and is suitable for systems that require efficient cooling or heating. In addition, R410A has good compatibility with some types of lubricants, and there is no need to discharge the remaining refrigerant in the system during maintenance.
